ISODS (The International Society of Data Scientists), is a professional organization for Data Science practitioners and researchers, which may includes Data Scientists, Machine Learning Scientists, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Risk Analysts, Actuaries, Business Analysts, and more, who apply Data Science at work. We are a professional organization for Data Scientists based in the United States, and promote Data Science internationally via activities such as competitions, conferences, training, professional exams, and publications. Our mission is to create a set of exam-based standards in the field of Data Science for recognizing Data Scientists, and to create educational and business opportunities to individuals as well as institutions.
To encourage young scientists and students to contribute to ISODS with presentations of timely and noteworthy research results, two special young scientist programs are organized at ISODS 2019. The purpose of these programs is to recognize young talents in the field.
=== Best Student Presentation Awards (BSPA) ============
Any full-time university student, who is the first author as well as the presenting author of a presentation at ISODS 2019, can apply for the Best Student Presentation Award (BSPA). A curriculum vitae with publication list must be submitted together with the abstract, and a presentation prepared and posted on Youtube. Three Prize Winners (First, Second, and Third Prizes) and two Honorable Mentions will be selected for each of the topic areas by the Conference Committee.
=== Young Data Scientist Award (YDSA) ============
To qualify for applications for YDSA, one must have a PhD degree in science or engineering and be under 40 years of age by the conference date. The applicant must be listed as the first author as well as the presenting author of a presentation at ISODS 2019. A curriculum vitae with publication list must be submitted together with the abstract, and a presentation prepared and posted on Youtube. Awardees will be selected after peer-review of the applications by the Conference Committee.
