The International Society of Data Scientists (ISODS) is pleased to announce the result of 2019 Nomination for Leaders in Data Science & AI.

 

The following individuals are officially recognized as the Leaders in Data Science & AI of the Year 2019.

Geoffrey Everest Hinton

Dr. Hinton is a Computer Scientist at Google (Google Brain) and the University of Toronto. He is the Chief Scientific Advisor of the Vector Institute in Toronto. Dr. Hilton is the co-author of a highly cited paper published in 1986 that popularized the backpropagation algorithm for training multi-layer neural networks. He is considered as the "Godfather of Deep Learning". Thanks to his contribution to the field, he was awarded the 2018 Turing Prize together with Yoshua Bengio and Yann LeCun. He was recognized as the World Innovators of 2019 by ISODS, and the Honored Senior AI Scientist of the Society.

Andrew Ng

Dr. Ng is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University, and the Founder of Coursera and deeplearning.ai. Previously he founded and directed the Google Brain project and served as the chief scientist at the Chinese search giant Baidu, as well as having directed the artificial intelligence laboratory at Stanford University. With his Coursera online courses, he has been teaching over 2.5 million students. He was named in Time magazine as one of 100 Most Influential People in 2012, and is first time named by ISODS.
